About

This blog is written by Deana Ryan, M.B.A., C.Ht. Ph.D.  I am fortunate to spend my days helping others as an NMT (NeuroModulation Technique) Practitioner, HypnoBirthing Childbirth Educator and Clinical Hypnotherapist.  I love helping people restore health in their bodies and lives through NMT and Hypnotherapy and helping mothers and babies enjoy a calm and gentle birthing through HypnoBirthing.

Also, I’d love to hear from you.  Feel free to post a reply to any of my posts or send me an email to “deana at deana ryan dot com.”

Nothing in this blog is meant as medical advice.  Please understand that I am not a physician, surgeon, medical doctor, or other licensed health care professional and that I do not, nor do I hold myself out to, practice medicine or surgery, or any of the branches thereof.  The goal of this blog is to provide information and links so you can do your own research.  And then work with your health care team to make the best decision for you and your unique circumstances.  I assume no responsibility or liability for the outcome of any pregnancy, labor, or birth.

Hypnosis scripts and hypnosis audio clips should never be used or listened to in a car or when you are doing anything that requires your full attention.  Pain and discomfort management techniques should be used during birthing if the mother experiences these symptoms as part of the normal birthing process.  They should never be used to cover up a serious condition that requires medical attention.

  1. I think your blog is excellent! It has been SUCH a help with my home-study of Hypnobirthing. I really wanted to use Hypnobirthing, but I live like 2 hours away, so it wasn’t really possible.
What I was wondering was, if you could possibly put up a script for the Glove Relaxation Technique. I’m struggling with this, and the book just isn’t much help. I bought the Rainbow Cd and the Gentle Surges Cd, but I don’t know where I could get the Glove script anywhere. This would be a tremendous help! Thank you!

  2. Jennifer – Glove Relaxation is copyrighted material that is owned by the HypnoBirthing Institute. Currently, the only way to get a copy of the script is to take a HypnoBirthing class. The book gives some information about Glove Relaxation and you might like the Sensory Gate Valve technique (something that is similar to Glove Relaxation) in the HypnoBirthing book.
We have our own take on glove anesthesia in our Birthing Zone CD. The comfort management track on this CD guides you in creating glove relaxation and then moving it to various parts of your body without having to move your hand. Best of luck!
